After School Club – Important Update
After School Club (ASC)
We are looking forward to welcoming pupils back to school in September and are in the process of finalising safe opening arrangements. We are submitting a risk assessment to the local authority which will be made available on the website, we encourage everyone to read it and send any questions to Helen Fraser (email@example.com).
After School Club closure
To date, very few parents regularly use the ASC. Recognising the need to open the school under optimum ‘COVID safe’ conditions this means that running a mixed aged ‘drop in’ ASC is not advisable under the current guidelines.
Regrettably, we will not be able to provide ASC provisions for the start of the Autumn Term so we kindly ask that parents make their own arrangements for after school child care.
The situation will be kept under review. If guidelines change or if there are sufficient numbers of parents who confirm that they would like their children to attend an ASC on a regular basis we will make formal arrangements to reopen after half term.
Pre-booking and termly payment in advance will be required so that firm arrangements can be made for safe staffing and ensuring we minimise the risk of infection to everyone.
Action for Parents
We understand that these are very uncertain times and not having ASC will inconvenience some parents which we are keen to avoid.
If you would like your child(ren) to attend an ASC, for the second half of the term, please contact Sheila at firstname.lastname@example.org by the 30th September with the following information:
- Name and age of child(ren)
- Which day(s) of attendance are required
- Ideal time of attendance.
This information will allow us to plan ahead making the necessary arrangements to provide ASC safely for all.
With best wishes for a warm welcome back to school.
